07 Days / 06 Nights

DAY 01: FLIGHT LIMA – CUSCO, CITY TOUR & 4 RUINS Transfer to the airport to board our flight to the city of Cusco. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the selected hotel. The rest of the morning is free for acclimatization. At the appropriate time (around 1:30 pm), pick up from the hotel for the city tour, during which we will visit Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), Santo Domingo Convent, and Cusco’s main square. We will then explore the nearby archaeological park including Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 02: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY + LUNCH Breakfast. In the morning, we will head to Pisaq to visit its archaeological complex and local artisan market. We will continue along the banks of the Vilcanota River to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Inca towns with its original street layout, and explore its impressive archaeological site. Overnight in Sacred Valley.

DAY 03: CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU Breakfast. At the scheduled time, transfer to the train station for the journey to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, we will take a bus up to Machu Picchu citadel for a guided tour of this ancient sanctuary, exploring the agricultural zone, urban sector, Temple of the Sun, stone quarries, botanical garden, Temple Plaza, Three Windows, Intihuatana (the solar clock), Sacred Rock, and more. Free time to further enjoy this majestic place. Return to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 04: FLIGHT CUSCO – IQUITOS Birth of the Amazon River – Yanayacu de Yacapana | Iquitos / Nauta / Amazon River.
Breakfast. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for the flight to Iquitos. Upon arrival, our guides will meet you and transfer you to Nauta to board the cruise ship. While settling into your cabin, you will feel your adventure begin as the ship starts its journey along the Marañón River towards the confluence with the Ucayali River — the birthplace of the mighty Amazon River. Take some time on the deck to enjoy panoramic views while the guides share stories about the origins of the Amazon. Lunch on board featuring regional cuisine. In the afternoon, the guides will present an overview of the trip itinerary, activities, wildlife, vegetation, and useful information. In the late afternoon and evening, we will explore Yanayacu de Yacapana in search of wildlife, including Victoria Regia (giant water lilies), birds, iguanas, sloths, pink river dolphins, and more. After dark, we will use flashlights to look for caimans, owls, and capybaras. Back on board, enjoy live music performed by the ship’s band, followed by a welcome dinner. Overnight on board.

DAY 05: IQUITOS – CRUISE Yanayacu de Yacapana – Yarapa | Amazon River / Yarapa River / Ucayali River / Vista Alegre.
Wake-up call with live music so you can enjoy the beautiful Amazon sunrise. Early morning birdwatching excursion at Yanayacu de Yacapana. This is the best time to spot a wide variety of Amazon birds including macaws, sloths, monkeys, flycatchers, toucans, quetzals, and parrots. Return to the ship for breakfast as we continue sailing toward the Ucayali River. Later, a morning boat excursion to explore the Yarapa River, home to many reptiles such as iguanas and anteaters. Return to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon, we will review the day’s sightings and geographic highlights. Visit the butterfly farm at Vista Alegre to learn about the vital role of butterflies in the Amazon ecosystem. Back on board, enjoy dinner and live music. Tonight, we offer an exciting night excursion in search of caimans, snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, anacondas, nocturnal monkeys, and more. If you prefer, you can relax on board under the moonlight with a Pisco Sour. Overnight on board.

DAY 06: IQUITOS – CRUISE Yarapa River – Piraña Creek | Ucayali River / Marañón River / Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
This morning we will explore the black waters of the Yarapa River in search of wildlife. Breakfast on board. We will continue along the Ucayali River toward Piraña Creek, one of the first tributaries of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Morning boat excursion to Piraña Creek — excellent for piranha fishing. Return to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a guided jungle walk to learn about medicinal plants and discover a variety of native species, including tarantulas, frogs, spiders, and more. We will also learn basic jungle survival skills. Return to the ship for live music and dinner. Overnight on board.

DAY 07: IQUITOS – END OF CRUISE – FLIGHT TO LIMA Pacaya Samiria National Reserve | Marañón River / Nauta / Iquitos.
After enjoying your last breakfast on board, check-out and transfer by bus from Nauta to Iquitos. On the way, we will visit the Amazon Rescue Center (ACOBIA), where you will see manatees and have the opportunity to feed them. We will also take a brief city tour to see highlights from the rubber boom era, such as the Iron House, Belén Market, and more. Finally, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Lima.

Seat selection: airlines may change pre-assigned seats at check-in if they deem it necessary, without compensation to the passenger.
